Power 99: Racial slurs lead to DJ Star's suspension

Final follow-up on the Power 99 controversy: Star is suspended for a day.

The point has been made, folks. I'm ready to move on.

He wasn't though, they're passing off a scheduled telethon as a suspension. The station has half assedly apologized, but more for having posted the clip on the web than for the actual actions, and Troi has not. Meanwhile the station is complaining that the people who object aren't even in their target audience anyway, as if this makes the objections suspect and illegitimate.

I tend not to stay focused on offensive comments too long. I just hear too much of it (every damn day, actually -- living in this part of town).

The apology is paltry -- and I see from Abhi's post that it's a bit of a trick, actually -- but we got it in Philly papers. On that note, I'm impressed by what a few bloggers (mainly you guys, I think) were able to do.
